Welcome Back to School!

Although our return to school is going to look a bit different this year, we are ready and willing to serve everyone!  As of August 31st, the USDA approved a waiver allowing schools to distribute free meals to all students through December 31st, while funding lasts.  This means that both breakfast and lunch will be free to all students. However, it is extremely important that you still complete the free and reduced price meal applications if you think your family may qualify.  Your application will need to be on file for when the USDA universal free meals waiver ends.  Families that wish to apply for free or reduce price meals should complete the SY 20-21 Free and Reduced price meals application, which will be mailed home at the beginning of September.

Hybrid Learning Meal Distribution:

  • Students attending school as part of the Hybrid Program will be able to pick up grab and go bags on the two days that they are in school.
    • Students in Cohort A will pick up a bag on Monday as they leave school.  This will contain lunch for Monday as well as breakfast and Tuesday.  On Tuesday, students will pick up a bag containing lunch for Tuesday, as well as breakfast and lunch for Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and breakfast for the following Monday.
    • Students in Cohort B will pick up a bag on Thursday as they leave school.  This will contain lunch for Thursday as well as breakfast for Friday.  On Friday, students will pick up a bag containing lunch for Friday, as well as breakfast and lunch for Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and breakfast for the following Thursday.
  • If you prefer to pick up a week’s worth of meals at a time, you may visit Braintree High School on Wednesdays from 10 AM to 12 PM or 4 PM to 6 PM, or contact sarah.coughlin@braintreeschools.org to make arrangements to pick meals up at your child’s school.

Remote Learning Meal Distribution:

  • Students attending school through the Remote Learning School can pick up grab and go bags at Braintree High School on Wednesdays from 10:00-12:00 or 4:00-6:00.

Anyone with questions about the Breakfast/Lunch Program can contact the Director of School Food and Nutrition, Sarah Coughlin, via email at sarah.coughlin@braintreeschools.org or by calling 781-848-4000 ext. 7045.
